Help Us Plan Next Year’s Literature Class!

We’re excited to begin planning for next year’s literature curriculum. In our program, students in grades 1–4 have books read aloud to them by their teachers, while students in grades 5–8 read the books independently in preparation for classroom discussions and activities.

Next year, our focus will be the Middle Ages—from the Fall of Rome to the Rise of the Renaissance—and we’d love your help gathering book recommendations that align with this time period.

We’re looking for a diverse selection of titles that:

  • Feature both male and female lead characters

  • Highlight characters from a variety of ethnic backgrounds

  • Contains overall moral themes

  • Serve as a strong foundation for classroom discussions and activities

In the spaces below, please share any titles you believe would be a great fit. For each recommendation, include as much information as you can about the book and why you think it would work well.

Once we’ve gathered a list of potential books, we’ll reach out for help reading and reviewing them so we can make our final selections for the upcoming school year.

Please fill out a separate form for each book you recommend.

Thank you for being a part of this process—we truly value your input!
